Not quite the upper reaches. Highest here is over 6200 feet but I'm too fat and the moment and my lungs are terrible and, as a result, I hike very slow. I'll get up there one of these days though.zelph wrote:Have fun on your hike in the upper reaches of your locale.

Re: "Cobalt" stove for Heineken pot
Been doing some more testing and I think the Cobalt Blue is growing on me. With a windscreen around my Fancy Feast, the flames like to shoot up the side of my Heiny. However, I don't experience this behavior with the Cobalt Blue and can run a much tighter fit of a windscreen. I'm going on a day hike...

Re: "Cobalt" stove for Heineken pot
Boil times the same compared to my Fancy Feast. However, the Cobalt does burn the same amount of fuel for roughly 2m longer.

Re: "Cobalt" stove for Heineken pot
Received my stove today, very nice Zelph. I don't have scientific numbers but I filled a Heiny pot with 'Pur' filtered cold tap water and did my first boil with roughly 3/4 oz. of denatured alky. Not sure of the actual amount of water but it was filled to within 1" from the top and the water was pre...

Re: "E-Z Fold Windscreen" for backpackers
Nevermind. I just ordered a "Cobalt Blue" kit off of your eBay listings. I need another stove like I need a hole in my head but I really like the windscreen and collapsible fuel flask.

Re: Sapporo Pot
Magnet confirms it is steel.
Allen, safety opener works perfectly. No issues at all. Can holds 22 oz.

Re: Sapporo Pot
I believe the can is steel and not aluminum. It is very rigid though. Is it indeed steel? That would explain why it feels so nice and solid in my hand. It doesn't appear to weigh much more than a Heiny. It probably is steel though as I don't see any recycling logos on the can. It does, however, app...

Re: SuperCat holes
If grocery prices keep going up, I've been thinking about eating FancyFeast. At 50 cents/can, it's a deal.Allen wrote:It's always bothered Me that Cat Food and Potted Meat come in the exact same can

Sapporo Pot
Has anyone played around with a Sapporo pot before? I really like how it works with my FancyFeast stove. The only disadvantage being that my stove won't nest in the pot. I am getting slightly quicker boil times with the Sapporo vs. the Heiny although I haven't put a stop watch to it (yet) to know ju...
