Re: Make Your own Condiment Packets

Tasted the same. No difference. My mama told me the real issue with Mayo used to be in the old days because of the need for eggs. Salmonella was probably the culprit I suspect. In any case... Making up some Mayo packets on your own, refrigerating them and them keeping them in your nag several days s...

Re: New Websites

Hey Russ - I do indeed like making our own meals. Our second refrigerators in the garage is loaded with enough stuff to get us thru half the summer thus far. I cook a lot at home. Been a hobby of mine for along time. I was a such a cookobook addict that my wife asked me to please not buy another boo...

My favorite section is your gardening section. Now we're talking fun. We moved to Montana from New Hampshire last September. The one thing ...

Re: Stove Color and Emissivity

I am the stove builder that has stated on BPL that the flame up the sides is a waste of energy Hi Tony - I said "stove reviewer" on Backpacking Light so you were not who I was referring to. The stove builder I was referring to was not you as well either :) In any case, thanks for your response. The...

Re: Stove Color and Emissivity

Not being a rocket scientist, I would think the concept they are explaining is the same concept as conduction except that it deals with the simpleness of colors. I have seen it written recently by a stove reviewer at Backpacking Light and by a stovemaker that when some flame is going up the sides of...

Re: "Glass Stove" You Knew It was Comming

Yes it was a nice photo shoot. I have learned to use the term rolling boil when describing how I measure my boil times.

Re: Make Your own Condiment Packets

Zelph - There's loads of debate about this topic. In many places in Europe Mayo is a staple condiment and dressing that is left out on the table as butter might be. I proved it to my wife by eating mayo that had been on our counter for two weeks. My only point in saying this is that for small amount...
