Re: Apple iPhone 3GS 16GB Smart Phone
Setting up wifi is a good thing to know how to do. You will need to do this on the road whenever you want to log in to a new wifi access point. Once your connection is setup once, it should be remembered by your phone. The first thing to check is that wifi is turned on your phone. Here is a link tha...

Re: Apple iPhone 3GS 16GB Smart Phone
To use GPS effectively you need an app with offline maps. You need enough memory to download maps when on WiFi then can use them offline. I use the Copilot app on Android. I believe there is a free version for iPhone available on iTunes as well. Its not perfect but the price is right. Worth a try I ...

Carbon Fiber Does Not A Good Chimney Make
I've been watching some YouTube videos on an experimental fireplace for a tent. It uses carbon fiber for the firebox and chimney. I'll provide the latest video link. Several more precede it if you find it interesting. It was an interesting idea and the build was fun to watch; But the porous fiber ch...

Deadwood Stove (Not ultralight)
Hi Gang,
A buddy of mine posted a link to this stove on Facebook. I have no affiliation or familiarity with it, but it looks like an interesting product. It looks a bit like a rocket stove on stilts. Thought y'all might find it interesting.

Re: how not too cook
I could be wrong but the way those snow flakes were sticking together when they fell it doesn't look that cold. In extreme cold weather snow does not stick together like that as it falls. I am surprised the alcohol was so hard to light. That said, they could have done a number of things to make ligh...

Re: BIOLITE Featured on Cramer's Mad Money
Hiram Cook pointed out an alternate device which can work with any stove to charge devices. It looks much more simple.

Re: BIOLITE Featured on Cramer's Mad Money
Looks like they are available for sale. And only $129.00. Doesn't seem to be as expensive as I thought it would be, but I am not in the market for one.

Re: BIOLITE Featured on Cramer's Mad Money
I think the stove is interesting, but not enough to buy one. Not at the prices they are asking. I've never understood how these stove makers targeting third world markets expect to make money. How can users there afford it. I guess they're hoping to get some generous souls to shell out the big bucks...
