I've been doing more reading about melting snow with an alcohol stove. Most do not recommend it because you have to bring a lot of fuel and it takes a long time. They say bring liquid fuel stove. So...how many of you use an alcohol stove to melt snow? Am I wasting my time trying to do this?

Back from my trip. I was disappointed, I didn't get to melt snow. I had brought water. I didn't need as much water as I thought. I was going to melt snow just for fun after breakfast, but the snow was blowing so hard that I just skipped breakfast and headed out. The stove worked great. It was about ...

I just noticed that the pot is not totally flush on the stove. Will this affect the performance?

Testing, Testing....good idea. Is a 1.1 Liter pot 4.5"x4.5" too small for a FF to melt snow. would a bigger pot be better.

I only got 6 cups of water to boil on 3 oz. how did you get 1 gallon? Another question, when you cook eggs or make pancakes, should you use a simmer ring around the Fancee Feest?

I am going snow camping this weekend. I am just going to use the regular fancee feest that hold 3 oz. It boiled 6 cups of water in 15 min. and total burn time was about 20 min. Does anyone have experience using the fancee feest to melt snow , how much fuel should I take on an overnight trip. Going t...
