Choose your site where you can see a fallen tree that you can fit under in case of a storm. Leave your hammock/tent and go to the fallen tree for protection. Sorry..I'm just a sarcastic b*st*rd at heart and opportunity knocked..couldn't help myself. ;) That's something I always wondered about hammock camping...appears you must pick your trees you hang from very carefully.A lot of ours are big firs or hemlocks with dead branches that can be 30-100' feet ...

I figured a picture is worth a thousand..words..you know how that goes.. ;) ..It usually makes a better seal like that and is pretty simple to do..once you do it once and if you are smart enough to remember the lap distance(I wasn't.. :roll: ). :lol: I'll tinker with it tonight, right now I'm swing...
