Re: Rivendell Mountain Works

Ridgerunner killed a Spammer, nice shot deadeye :D I remember the commercial where a guy gets a call from a telemarketer on saturday morning. Still in his pajamas and robe, he leaves his house, gets on a bus, goes downtown, into a high-rise office building then the elevator (still on the phone), wa...

Post reporting

Is there any method of reporting a post or someone posting spam or inappropriate links, material, etc..? NBCbolt1 is posting as I type and it's all links to porn. How is that going through? When I first registered and posted, it seemed like was quite a while before my first post went through to be s...

Re: From my recent backpack

Dude...that is so nice! I used to live in Snowmass Village. I really enjoyed living out there. I did quite a bit of hiking when I lived there but don't recall Avalanche Lake. I envy you, I miss being there. I went and hike a 14er the first weekend in Aug. It was Blanca Peak, southcentral CO, close t...

Re: Good stove candidate?

I appreciate the response...that's why I was asking! I know stainless is a lot harder to work with compared to Alu as well...didn't know about the heating properties though, that's good to know. I'll be on the lookout for other types of alu cans and bottles and will start trying my hand at some of t...

Re: Howdy from nw Arkansas

Hey ridgerunner, I'm just down the road from your brother. I live in Lowell which borders the south side of Rogers. Yeah, we do have some pretty clean lakes...even the dirty ones are clean by other states standards! Now I wouldn't go swimming in the Arkansas River though! I'll catch the fish in the ...

Good stove candidate?

I was wondering if this could be made into a stove. It's a small shake, 6" total height. Tumbler is 2-3/4", strainer is 2" and the cap is 7/8", stainless steel and it weights about 4oz. (I think). Any ideas on how to turn it into a stove? http://www.flickr.com/photos/51002503@N00/2761013982/in/photo...

Re: Howdy from nw Arkansas

Thanks guys, appreciate the welcome. I was no where near in the shape I needed to be for that hike (climb!). Mostly it was altitude getting to me (got winded very easily...no sickness though) but my ankles and legs got really tired. I packed way too much and the gear (mostly old stuff) is not exactl...
