Re: We are really suffering up here this winter in the NW!

High in the low 50s reported for today on MA coast. Bright & sunny out. This is perfect weather to me! Gonna go hike maybe 4 or 5 miles with Skippy Bones (my dog).

RealityGuy, you have an Asian Pear Tree? That's great, I'm a bit jealous.

Re: gearing up for the new year

Well, there's always something I'd like to get or get rid of. I'll probably be doing some hikes up in the Blue Hills, as I may not get as much time away as I'd hoped. The reports I read were upper 40s for next week. Where are you at RidgeRunner? Ok, nevermind, I see.

Re: Fire for your shelter

Anyone know what type of base is used to pile the wood on, such as material of the base? Nowadays, we have several things we could use, but was curious what native Indians would've used. Stone maybe?

Carbon Felt

Hey everyone, just a quick question: does anyone know where to find carbon felt at a good price. I've already done the google thing, so please don't tell me to google it ;) . I'm looking for the stuff that Tinny sells on his site. Thanks for any help.

Re: REI Garage Sale

Plus, nice to live close to a REI store! ;) Yes, where I live now the REI is about 15 mins away. When I lived in Plymouth, the EMS was about 5 mins away. The best trips to those stores are when you walk in not really looking for anything in particular, and then "find" something that makes your day!
