Re: NC Trails

Ya, I suppose. I have never really been much for holidays or birthdays really. Not sure why exactly. Mostly my family makes a bigger deal out of it so to keep everyone happy I try to go along with as much of it as I can take lol. I truthfully look forward to backpacking trips or really anything that...

You know of a way to get a map quickly? Is there a site I can download one that you know of? Thanks for all the info ...

Re: NC Trails

I looked at a few sites about Big Creek and it had said there were bears in the area and to use the supplied cables at each campsite or something. Do you happen to know of any other trails like I am looking for? I'm going with a friend and we wer...

Re: NC Trails

Wanted: Impossible Item? (Heineken Cans/Pots)

So, I suppose I joined lightweight backpacking train a little too late and I'm trying to find a Heineken can/pot for myself. I've done a lot of googling and there seem to be some places that do still sale them but I haven't confirmed that by hunting them down, just going by the websites. So does any...

Re: Stove buckles

Well better since the vegetable oil worked well. I'm still having problems getting a pressurized stove to work though. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong and every video on youtube is mostly people testing and using pressurized stoves and not building. The only ones I found being built either didn'...

Stove Fuel

Ok, just curious about this. For the most part the recommended fuel for alcohol stoves seems to be denatured alcohol or the yellow HEET bottle. So at my local Wal-Mart a 4 pack for HEET is about $5.50 to $6 after taxes. All that is in that bottle is methanol, correct? If that's the case then couldn'...
