Re: Failure! V8 "Cobalt"

Hi Darren, thanks for posting your results, I have been thinking about the same idea of using a thinner can. Without trying the idea I think Zelph is right that the aluminum is too thin, but another problem is the inside of the die should be as smooth as possible, a very smooth surface can make a bi...

Re: new UL Canister Burner project

Hi Daren, V\besides that; if i entered mine then Tony would enter his, and i'd be blown out of the water. i don't think my fragile psyche could handle that level of rejection! I have already won the stotm comp, I do think it is fair that I win it again. My stove making and testing has come to a stop...

Re: Jugungal Wilderness walking/fishing trip 2009

Hi Zelph, Thanks for the info on the devils. They sure do look menacing. Do they consume the bones/marrow. (Porcupine eat deer antlers) They apparently eat everything. I have patted a Tasi devil, they are very cute animals actually, they just make lots of growling noises. They are in real serious tr...

Re: Jugungal Wilderness walking/fishing trip 2009

Hi Zelph, How about the Tazmanian Devil, is it on the mainland or off the coast somwehere? That little thing looks fierce. :D Tasmanian Devils are no longer on the mainland, they are not aggressive to humans, the main problem with tasi devils is that they eat carrion and if you die and if your remai...

Re: Jugungal Wilderness walking/fishing trip 2009

The most dangerous animals we have in my area are mosquitoes, March flies (they bite), feral dogs, pigs and horses (in that order). In the tropics in Northern Australia they have salt water crocodiles, they are far more dangerous than snakes, they can take out cattle and horses a few people are take...

Re: Jugungal Wilderness walking/fishing trip 2009

Hi Ridgerunner, Austrailia, supposedly, has more creatures that can kill you than any other country in the world. You better know what's in the bush before hiking in unfamiliar surroundings. ;) Most of it is media hype, I will take our snakes and spiders any day to your bears, I hike in country with...
