Re: small wood stoves for "hunter's tents"

If I start seeing smoke in my 'hood..Daddy MnM..you want me to call the fire department for ya? Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. This is not a picture of something I built, just an image I found using Google. I thought it was a simple solution to possibly stir the creative juices. I have not yet got ...

Re: small wood stoves for "hunter's tents"

I found a DIY example for a combined door & vent. It could be scaled down:

Re: Wood Burning Stove Build Contest

How are you going to account for differences in BTU's for the various native woods for regionally diverse Bplite members? Seems like there should be some attempt to create a test standard.

Re: small wood stoves for "hunter's tents"

I stumbled across this video on YouTube where someone made a stove out of two propane tanks. He incorporated a lot of features into a small stove. I provided a link below. If you go to his channel he has several videos on how it was made. I found it interesting. http://www.youtube.com/user/veryoldma...

Re: Slimline Stainless Steel Pot

If you fold it, will it break? If not, you could eliminate welding one side with a fold.

Re: Does anyone know what this material is - Volcano Lid

That's an interesting oven design. For some reason it go me to thinking about firefighter survival tents. I did some googling and discovered that the design for firefighting shelters is controlled by federal safety standards. Those meeting current standards cost $300. OK if you need it for it's orig...

Re: The Albert Skye Alcohol Stove

Is Seattle mostly cloudy throughout the day/week during the winter? Summer? Seattle has over 200 days a year with some measurable rain. However, it can be rainy and cold one day, and sunny and warm the next. The large body of water known as Puget Sound moderates temperatures so that on average they...

Re: The Albert Skye Alcohol Stove

I was thinking of the tower in Seattle, WA when I did the video. What's the name of the tower? I think you are referring to the Space Needle from the 1961 world's fair. I don't think there is a spiral stairway. The normal way up is an external elevator. They raise the elevator to the top to mark th...

bakabunjp's trinity stove/lantern

Was surfing YouTube and found this interesting stove from Japan. It is a dual fuel stove (esbit/alcohol) and a zippo fueled lantern. A lot of interesting ideas there. There's even a pretty wild looking pressurized juice bag remote fuel alcohol burner in his videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/bakabu...

How bobsled's work

My son asked me how they steer bobsleds. I didn't know, so we google'd it. Found this interesting link and thought I'd share it.
