Thanks for you comments all. But if when it comes to hardware, the saying of TIA (this is Africa) holds true. And I happen to live in Franschhoek, Western Cape. It is to South Africa what the Hamptons are to the US. So the locals aren't very DIY inclined, For that I'll have to wait for the Universit...

Clever idea :D You use it in the campus library :o If you use HEET, why not, has no odor to speak of and no fear of spilling fuel. Fill it before going to the library. Why did'nt I think of that? I like you set-up the way it is. No fear of getting the wick wet when washing the cup out. Thanks Daren...
