So I have this idea of making a glow plug. to vapourise fuel. This is what I plan to do: Using a 1/4" male to male coupler, Nichrome wire and a ceramic clay or epoxy. I am going to make a halo out of the nichrome wire about the size of a penny. bring the two ends through the coupler. and screw that ...

Re: Operation Green Wool
Well being of the an impressionable age, and the fact that I earn my own money, I always say, would you rather have me spend this money on drugs. Works every time. Add to that the fact that i do lots of scribbles and seemingly scientific calculations.I usually ask so dad do you thinks Boyle's gas la...

Re: Remote Fueling for Alcohol Stoves
Funny you should mention that Zelph I saw the same one, with the weak yellow flames. and the first thing i thought was, is that a paper weight. But anyway. been looking at RC glow plugs as well, seem possible, not for continuous use, but to start it up. Only six more days then i can buy all my goodi...

Com'on now Zelph, I had my eyes TOO closely on the road.
Anyway the idea is to use nichrome wire and a bit of ceramic clay too preheat stoves and too ultimately make a primer pan less pressurized stove.

Re: Simplicity Stove design..
"Stovies" go to extremes to satisfy their interests. :D Well in the eyes of others maybe. To us its become the norm. I read a article written in an outdoor magazine the journalist is one of those almost "hikers" , you know the the closest he gets too the outdoors is the gardening section of the sho...

Re: Question..anybody use espresso screens for stoves?
What diameter are those screens, As they could be used for a pretty cool pressurized stove. The other option is to find a can or bottle in which it fits, a heavy-ish gauge of bottle (think cobalt) then cut it to the correct size, add a ring of high temp silicone, and roll the edge over, fit a thread...

Re: RF StarLyte Stove
Looks good, The one I'm working on, has a spray bottle for fueling, needs about four full trigger pulls to get a teaspoon of fuel in. so that about 1.25 ml per pull. Still have a single draw back I need tin metal tube to deliver fuel. been scrounging for empty ink refills. But one again I like the 9...
