I'm pretty new to this hiking thing so I've been relying heavily on Samh's gear lists for direction. I don't think I'm at gram weenie level yet but maybe someday... we'll see. Right now I'm still shaving ounces! :lol: My base gear weight is about 11 pounds carried. I'd like to get that down below 10...

I recall putting marshmallows in the microwave when I was young and they did indeed expand. I also remember that they got kind of hard and tough after that.

Did you drink filtered water from the St. Louis river that runs through there? My brother was telling me that it isn't very clean due to pollution from ages ago that's still leaching out of the sediment. I did a little searching online and it does appear to be an AoC (Area of Concern).

This video thing has me a bit confused. Photobucket says the maximum size you can load is 100 mb. My latest effort was only 34 mb and 8+ minutes and each time i loaded it, it said it was complete but only plays for 5 minutes and stops. Any ideas?
