Re: Tiny forced capilary action stove.

I came across some very interesting info about this stove several months ago on another forum . As far as I can recall, the stove was developed for the U.S. military and a small batch of stoves (prototypes) were produced for field testing for special forces troops. There were a few issues with the s...

Diy wick adjustor mechanism

I am looking for a way to adjust the height of a wick for a stove--kind of like you would on a oil lamp. (perhaps a shaft with a cog on it? ----if I knew how to make one!) Any ideas? I would like to be able to adjust the wick height while the stove is burning. :?:

Re: looking for hollow threaded rod

i agree, a bulkhead fitting is exactly what I need---the problem is it needs to be really light, and very small diameter---maybe 1/16 ID? Ive never seen one like that for sale. I will try cutting threads in a piece of tubing and using 2 nuts----sounds like thats about the easiest and cheapest way to...

Re: looking for hollow threaded rod

Im using it as a bulkhead fitting----all i need is about 3/4 of an inch on one end threaded so I can put 2 nuts on it and anchor it to the stove body (sandwiched between it) with light weight tubing, do you think it would be hard to cut threads? I havnt tried it yet. Ill let you know! Any other ideas?

help with refueling port/fill port on alcohol stove

Im looking for a way to refuel an alcohol stove, and need a fill port/fitting-------something I can hook a small diameter hose up to. I tried a rivnut, with a small tube threaded into it. its ok, but not what i was looking for. Im afraid over time, the seal between the rivnut and the stove body will...

Re: gps help?

Great tactics with the wife------Ill have to try that one! You also could look for an ad, copy a picture of the gps and use it as wall paper on her computer desktop. Subtle, but probably effective !
