Re: Golite Quest 65L

I got a great deal on a 75% off sale. you can still get this model (2012) for 119.00 which isnt dirt cheap but is still half the price of many popular packs and over 100.00 less than I paid for the Exodus. The Glacier is 16 years old and retailed for nearly 400.00 at the time.

Re: Why buy a wood burning stove?

You have to love woodfires and all things that come with them. :D Enough to deal with: a little soot, a few extra minutes of preparation, wet wood, and a few nicks to the hands every once in a while. The skills that you learn from building a woodstove fire can help build a campfire in any conditions...

Re: Golite Quest 65L

The glacier is the heavy pack . Incredible padding and frame at the cost of heaviness. In its heyday I would carry everything I own on each trip. Frying pans, stools, outback oven, tons of clothes, camp shoes, etc. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y120/cadyak/danadesignsarc_zps9e6385e3.jpg The pack ...

Golite Quest 65L

About 4 or 5 yrs ago I put my old Dana Designs Arc Glacier up on the shelf. Only to be pulled out to be the mule for family trips. I realized that my gear would expand to fit the size of the pack. It weighs around 7 pounds but is an exceptional design. I really wanted to get carry less weight and I ...

Re: dehydrated meals

It is the Shangrila 5. I dont have the inner for it. Both are in high demand right now because Golite has been out of stock for months. I am keeping a look out for one If I see it. I like the ones I have seen with mesh sewn along the bottom edge and a mesh door, but I would want it to be removable l...

I just made the switch from iodine to aqua mira chlorine drops on my last trip and enjoyed my coffee a lot more. I havent tried the aftertaste tablets for iodine. I always forgot to take them with me.

Re: Laminar Flow Titanium Windscreen

Wow, that is like christmas :D I love to open up a a big can full o goodies like that. Very nice kit. If you ever needed to, you could stake the whole assembly down with a ti or wire stake. This is helpful when you are enjoying the stove in a stiff wind without the weight of a pot on top to hold it ...
