Re: Flea Market find, and some junk

A quick search says they cost 70.00 new so you got a good deal. It looks like it's made with light gauge material, don't step on it :P We all need more than one stove  Yeah I am not sure how I feel about the stove. It's feels fragile as if I were to ever even fart in its general direction,...

Re: I was *really* bored at work....

Hmmmm! cool way to vaporize fuel. Someone here on bplite had the idea to drip kerosene/olive oil onto a dome, think brass doorknob to create a stove of sorts. I think it was a remote feed type fuel system also. I'll search doorknob and see if it comes up. Yes, you sure do have a nice collection of ...

Flea Market find, and some junk

Bought meself a Coleman Apex II for $15. Came with an extra fuel bottle and both were full of fuel. The pump works fine but it needs a needle valve O-ring.. I also bought a clunker 425F for $10.00. I don't know why I bought the F. I already have a 425E. I guess it was an impulse buy isle purchase? (...

   They grow back kinda slow  Innovation.....using a freeze plug :D What is the function of the inner burn cap? Interesting to see how some folks like certain style/brands of stoves. Me, I like the quiet marine alcohol stoves. Oops56 and ridgerunner like the roaring kind :o ...

Re: I was *really* bored at work....

what parts can you use and on what other stove? I don't remember seeing this stove before :? I needed an inner burner cap for my shmel-1 stove. I couldn't find the part by itself so I went and bought a cheap clunker Shmel-2 for parts. Inner burn cap on the left: http://oi42.tinypic.com/1058bqb.jpg ...

Re: I was *really* bored at work....

sounds like 2 things still a air leak or the tank is to full just fill to 3/4 need air space to burn right Yeah. i though that too. I cannot find a leak anywhere on this stove, and I haven't filled it more then 1/2 tank. I'll keep futzing with it this winter at work since there isn't a whole lot of...

Re: I bought a camper (kinda)

WELL... Its been eventful. I wanted a LWB camper van to convert to 4wd, or "camper-ize" my 4x4 van using the parts from the camper van. I got side tracked.... :D I bought this 1989 B150 Shorty instead for real cheap. It's got 91K on the clock and it runs/drive great. I still want to buy a camper van...

Re: I was *really* bored at work....

After I took this thing apart and back together like 2 dozen times. It still surges slightly, but it's over all not a bad stove. It burns pretty clean on regular unleaded. You haveto preheat the heck out of it in order for it to do anything... It's not my favorite stove for sure. My Coleman 533 is o...

Re: I was *really* bored at work....

Welp, Looks like I'm taking the PT 2 apart this week. It surges like crazy when lit and loses pressure. Just for the heck of it I tried high octane gas and it made no difference. I'll bet in-tank inlet tube for the burner is clogged with some rust, or cosmoline.
