It is better to hang a hammock trap above 15 to 18 inch to get relief from rainy or snowy situation.

Why are you not using a camping family hammock? A family hammock is one of the best way to give complete relaxation. you can add some low weight cotton mat to get protect from cold.

I just visited the link which you have provided and it looks like jumbo camping hammock. I think the hammock is best for any type of environment and any season.
