Re: Aluminum and Ti melting point

Too long ago to remember, but I probably did overfill the Starlyte. Glad to here that even paper thin titanium will not melt.

Thanks Dan

Aluminum and Ti melting point

Hey Commander El Conquistador, Years ago I built an overly restrictive (around the fire box area)windscreen with plenty of air inlets and caused the original starlyte to boiling and run away. I got to watch the windscreen, made out of a beer can with 34" clearance between the pot and beer can winds...

Re: EXhaust chamber forcing exhaust swirlto swirl

Dan, Searching in your garage must be more fun than going to a museum. The flat wood stove gasket was very easy to silicon to the tall thin coconut juice pot BUT when I tried to get the part of the gasket to stand out perpendicular to the pot wall I realized that it does not want to do that since it...

Re: EXhaust chamber forcing exhaust swirlto swirl

Commander Dan, Been working my tail off at work getting up most days ae 3:30 AM and this whole week at 2:30 AM. But every couple of days I get some time working on my swirling exhaust exhaust stoves and windscreens. 1.) I did not want to mess up your 32 Oz. Conquistador can on my prototype so I used...

Re: EXhaust chamber forcing exhaust swirlto swirl

Hey folks, I made new swirl exhaust Chambers that are about 3/4" wide from pot to wind screen. There is still a slight burn the nostrils smell so I am working on a 1" wide chamber version that adds a pretty large 2"" to the overall OD when using but everything will still store pretty well . I put an...

Re: EL Conquistador Cook Kit

Oh Dangit Dan,
You are trying to get me in trouble again.

That is a hard deal to turn down. But I must until I finish with those Conquistadors I already bought or be prepared for the divorce summons.

You do great work.

Re: EXhaust chamber forcing exhaust swirlto swirl

Gentlemen, Instead of a new Dremel, I bought a Clark Jungle Hammock; very cool. last night very late, I tested my latest incarnation of the swirling exhaust chamber. They cause the exhaust to make a 360+ degree swirl around the 32 Oz. pot. There is 1/2" space between the pot and the windscreen that ...

Leather punch

dan, I have found a rectangular leather punch 1 3/8" tall and 3/4" wide. (eBay: 310961719730) This should make putting the whirlwind air inlets by replacing the punched out piece hinges with 2000 degree tape. I may even be able to make the doors adjustable so they can be closed on the heavy wind sid...
