Re: Kodak 35mmFilm Can Day Hiker

I think I bought that cup at goodwill for a buck..and picked through their pot lids for the lightest, tightest one I could find..for another buck..I've bought a LOT of camp cookware lately..too much!Eventually I'll take a couple test hikes and see exactly what I need to keep and get rid of.I've stack...

Re: Just a hi!

Re: New 1man Tube Tent

Sorry about that post kinda out of sync with the sealer talk..I'm new and got lost in the page count...Oh well...
I usually have pretty good access to foodsavers in the local thrift stores and always wondered about redoing a heat strip(make it longer) out of one of those so a person could make so...

Re: New 1man Tube Tent

Re: tent challenge

Texsport Knollwood Bivy..actually a two person tent with fair headroom/width and a small 3lb pack weight! Most complaints are about crappy sewing and cheap poles that break easy.I picked one up off ebay and the sewing seems to be as lousy as they say it is..with one of the two snubbers for the tie-ou...

Re: Kodak 35mmFilm Can Day Hiker

I'm thinking you are actually using more of the heat since it rises.Once it leaves the surface of the pan,it's wasted. If it travels farther across the surface it's using more of the residual heat from the flame..just my thoughts. The pot with the center strainer is a nice unit..I figured coffee(with...

Re: Retec Alcohol Burner(???)

Okay..someone made an offer..is about $10 less than I think I paid for them..anybody else have an idea of value/offer on the things?
I'm not mentioning the amount because I'd like to see an impartial judge of value...No,you aren't slitting each other's throats..it'll be kept anonymous...

Re: Retec Alcohol Burner(???)

No one answered about the pressurized gas..can you ship those by surface mail? That's a early 50s can of prepo.
I have no idea of a "good" price(anyone(couple people) give me a TRUE/HONEST idea here?let's be fair on both sides!)..but don't really want a fortune. They do need valve cleaning to proba...
