Re: fire starting methods

Wouldn't be cool to make one where the piston was a ferro rod. Then you have more than one way to start a fire at hand. although it would eventually deform your piston from functioning if you used the ferro rod a lot.

Re: leatherman super tool

Do you have the info for sending it in. I have my original one I got when they first came out sitting in my tool box. I broke the end off of one of the needle nose part of the pliers and one side has loosened up so the pliers don't stay locked open so they don't function properly. I use my newer one...

Re: DIY Snapstand(clikstand)

JMO! They look nice but kind of pricey if you go and buy one. I think you got the right idea RR, making your own! Price was one of the reason I went with the West Wind Stove for my Trangia. Not sure but I think it's lighter as well. However, your clickstand definately has the advantage on being wind...

When ever I get a good idea someone already did the dang thing WT_? Oh well! Hey my version costs less anyway, y...

Re: Environmental Fireplace

Here's my idea for the same thing using different materials. Don't ask me how i came up with this I thought of it after reading this thread. Take one of those metal collapsable vegetable steamers the ones that expand to something like a radar'/satelite dish and colapse to a domed metal thingy. Keep ...
