Kevlar wrapping...

I just got a 3" wide roll of kevlar for wrapping my pots. I am curious what any of you guys use as adhesive. I have tried the High temp red silicone. I also have non-adhesive silicone tape to wrap the edges, but it is too expensive to wrap a 3" band on a pot. The problem with the high temp silicone ...

Re: Fire Starting

You will probably see me post this many, many times. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. I typically carry multiple forms of fire starter. Including wooden kitchen matches (stored in sealed film cannister with striking material in the bottom), fire steel, lighter and some kind of battery ignit...

Re: "Jack" Stove

Again, this cook set will be all about versatility. The Heine pot is better for day trips and ultra-light packing. Sometimes the stainless pot is just too much. For extended trips you might want both to have an extra cook pot for multiple dishes. The Heine pot is good for soup/hot drinks and meanwhi...

Re: "Jack" Stove

Well, there is still the issue of centering the pot, unless you use the Heine pot. That was kind of the idea for the Jack stove. Jack of all trades. A stove people can still use with the Heine pot if they really want to stick with it. I have an idea about modifying the pot with this cook set ...

Baking with my "Jack Stove" cook set...

Mmmm, chocolate chip muffin cake. No refueling, no external fuel tanks, no hoses, no tinfoil origami or additional cook pots/pans.
I have also used a similar method to make big 4" x 4" cheese/garlic biscuits.
Enjoy!

Re: Why the Heine pot?

My issue is that it isn't versatile for various pot sizes. You can't go from say a Heine pot to a 1 1/2qt cook pot with the same stove. I suppose you could if you added a pot stand, but the stove by itself has to be purpose built for 1 size pot to truly be efficient. The ROF evolved so all differen...

This site need a better sarcasm emote! Link fixed. This is just my version of what hundreds if not thousands of people have done before. I'm not claiming to have re-invented the wheel or anything. I'm just paving the road so-to-speak. I actually bought these bottles direct from the manufactur...

Re: PRIMER PAN CUT 2 MINUTES OFF OF MY BOIL TIME!

Well, I stand corrected. it seems this was an anomaly of bad fuel. I have since been unable to recreate the effects with a new batch of fuel. I was using Heet when I noticed the change but ran out of Heet. I have since tried to recreate the test with other fuels available and have been unsuccessful....
