its the standard 1 liter pot with the black cozy around it.

i may get new stuff but keep in mind that i havent gotten new stuff in years and i have gotten tired of it so i started getting new stuff. the problem is that im running out of the small stuff and the wife will notice more if the big stuff.

she knew about the new gps but i had to hide the jetboil box from her. that wasnt fun at all. but we do what we have to do.

daren ill have to test the simmer thing but i didnt think it would when i got it. i really dont need it to. its just a feature that i want to be able to have some for baking. but thanks. now ill have to play around to see if i can get it to do it.

the jetboil is not all that common up here yet, but some of the local retailers have started to carry it.
this past spring i had the opertunity to play around with the MSR Reactor stove. it boils water like a whiz-bang! but it can't be used with regular pots, and it won't simmer.

ok. it's fast. impressively fast. but how much fuel did you use? it was a real eye openner for me to check fuel usage between a 3 minute boil and a ten minute boil. IRA, you need a digital kitchen scale that reads down to 1/10 of a gram. (tell her you got it for her to use in the kitchen ;) ).

ok ill look into getting one and then do another test for ya. give me a little while to talk her into it.

that test was done with the valve all the way open too. ok i have an idea, well really just something i want to try. im going to get the cheap firemaple stove out and do a test with the jetboil pot on that stove and see what happens.

ill have the results up in a few mins. i dont expect this to take long either.

outside temp 83
water starting temp 81

this time with the firemaple stove it boiled in 3 min 14 secs.

i also couldnt open the stove up much. i had to keep it on low because the head on this stove is bigger and the flames were going up the pot and starting to touch the wrap on the pot. not wanted to burn that i kept it on low.

so for now i think it has a lot to do with the pot.

i also want to do some testing with this pot on alcohol stoves to see for myself what it does.
