I forgot to mention the fact that I do not know what the exact application these tools(3 most recent) were made for.

Looking for your imput to see if someone comes up with something more exact.

I think all three of them are spring loaded to keep them closed. Keep that in mind.

Zelph, you may be more familiar with the way these comonly look, they are usually black with red rubber handles. usually a little thinner metal too. :mrgreen:

Snap ring pliers are usually black with points that look like pins that fit into the two small holes in the snap rings. Black in color because they have been hardened by high heat. When the handles are squeezed the jaws move inward.

There are inner and outer snap rings, These are for the outers most of those cheap tools you can use the tool for both. These look specifice for the outers, clip snaps onto a rod or tube. Inners compress to go into the groove on the inside of a pipe. Hope that helps.
