Try to identify this one.

The correct id for this one is:

Ratchet Brace. “Either handle could be taken off and screwed into the top end, transforming it into a ratcheting corner brace that can fit into small, confined spaces otherwise too awkward to work in.”
The ratchet brace was first used in the early 1900s before electric drills were available for general use. It was most popular with electricians and plumbers because you could bore holes for pipes close to walls and inside studding where you couldn’t use a regular brace. Simply unscrew one handle and screw into the top, 90º with the other handle and it turns into a corner brace. Moreover, because it works as a ratchet, drilling large holes in confined spaces takes little effort and doesn’t require switching hands. In fact, it became so well known as a small space cure-all that most people know the tool exclusively as a plumber’s brace. And if you’ve ever had to work underneath a sink or in any other cramped area, you know how frustrating it can be.
