Just For The Heck Of It

Another one of the oddball tools of someones trade. You'll never guess :) Then again we don't know who is lurking out there and has been silent. This tool will surely cause someone to speak up.

i have no idea! :lol: but;
it looks as though it was designed to spread apart two parts. like, something is hooked under the forward edge of the base, and something else is hooked over the forks. the thumb-wheel is turned down, the fork goes up, and the parts come apart. if this is correct, the forks are at their maximun extension in the image shown.

DarenN......

Oops, look closer. there are notches machined in the forks as though to hook onto something.

Damn, I've seen one of these somewhere but don't remember where or when or what the heck it's for. The recessed area on the bottom slides over something...errrrrrr.....I know it's not rights but will guess a capper. Hold on....this idea just came to me. My wife is a Notory...could it be a stamp to notorize or put a "Seal" on a document?....Naw, that couldn't be it, I give....errrrr :x
