Looks like an adze. As oops said, probably a cooper's adze.

I think OOPS and RUSS beat me to it. It is an adze designed to remove material from
the inside of a concave surface. Probably a barrel.

if the cutting edge is curved (as we are assuming) and it is not just age/wear and camera angle that make it looked curved, it could be a 'sculpters adze'. but it realy wouldn't have a hammer head if it was. likewise for a boat adze (used to carve dugout canoes).
if the cutting edge was originally designed to be straight, it could be a "timber-framers adze".
the last possibillity i can come up with is something i have in my collection. an eastern european "roofers hammer". straight cutting edge, hammer opposite. mine has cyrillic markings in it's casting.

It's a Yellow Tape measure. :)

I believe it's an adze used for ship building.

Cheers!

What's the overall length of the tape measure? How many spirals on the notebook?

Yep, Yellow Tape measurer. My guess is a "Stanley" but it could be a Craftsman. ;)

It would make a great tent stake driving hammer/trench digging tool combo.
It would also be good for digging up stuborn tent stakes.
I would drill some holes in the handle to save weight, after all this is bplite.com :)

Cheers!
