Don't know, what stuff do you have?
I like using 6 oz fiberglass tape. It comes with finished edges so no raveling.

Good idea..some unravelling always seems to happen. The stuff is hard to fold and roll without it coming unfolded at the same time..I'm thinking of rolling some, put some paper clips on to keep it folded, roll some more, then take the clips off once it's rolled in the container. It seems to work best with the loose fibers down and folded edges up.I like using 6 oz fiberglass tape. It comes with finished edges so no raveling
Any loose or open areas, pack in with house insulation in between so it'll stay in place.

i need to play around with the sheet to see how it works. i just want to make sure the it will work for wicking before i start working with it.

Re: wick stoves and me
You will find that a cut edge will want to unravel and the cloth will want to unfold as you try to roll and fold it...At one point I thought about stapling it..say fold a strip in thirds, then staple it in that position as you go,before rolling it so it won't come undone..once you test it,you'll understand the problems. You may want to try rolling it around a pencil or something also, might be easier. It does have a tendency of the center of what you are rolling sliding out one end into a cone..LOL!Have fun!

i will have fun. and ill come up with something that will work for me. the first thing i want to test is how well this stuff works. after that i want to really try to see if i can get a stove really going with the stuff.

One edge of your cloth should have a woven edge, no unraveling. Use the woven edge to be the top edge exposed if you do the Fancee Feest stove. Where ever you make a cut line first apply a length of 3/4" scotch tape so that it is centered on the cut line. Use a straight edge and single edge razor or exacto to make your cut. Leave the tape on the edge to keep it from coming apart.

Re: wick stoves and me
Zelph's scotch tape tip is a good one.
never thought of that. for cutting fiberglass cloth i use a rotary fabric cutter, a steel straight edge, and a lexan cutting board. the rotary cutter doesn't pull on the cloth as it cuts. if you get a good quality cutter it won't dull from cutting the cloth.
