The Warp One stove
Re: The Warp One stove
The SuperCat design burns and acheives a boil with 17ml of fuel and has the pot support built in. It can get a boil in about 4 min. If we keep those things in mind and use as a bench guidline for making stove we can answer some of our questions. What do we want, what do others want. I've used that as my guidelines.

I found the supercat to be not fuel efficient at all. I thought it was when I first made one, but then I tried other stoves. The thing about the Super Cat is in its simplicity and ease of construction.
Re: The Warp One stove
The test was conducted by me. I made a SuperCat using the template from Zen stove site. I used my 2.5 cup aluminum pot and starting water temp was 70 degrees. Under calm conditions. I have to emphasize "calm" conditions. Testing was done on the 'bench"just tinkering wrote:Do you have a link to the site that did the testing? I was under the impression that the Cat and SuperCat stove were not know for being fuel efficient. 17 ml and 4 minute boil times are a pretty impressive combination that sound hard to match. The SuperCat design burns and acheives a boil with 17ml of fuel and has the pot support built in.
A slight breeze will change the outcome/efficiency dramatically. Adding a windscreen to the equation helps. Do what ever is necessary to make the stove work.
Many stoves need primer wicks to make them work and take more than a few drops to get them started. I'd like to put "few drops" into the "Urban Legend" catagory

Speaking of flame transitioning to violet made me have a flash back of your mesh/flame photo. I had to make a copy of it to post it here.
The mesh acting like a catalytic converter to ignite unburned gases. Achieving complete combustion and getting into the hottest temp range.
Nice idea to chamfer the pvc fitting.
Do you think a series of three chamfered couplings reduced in size, 2" , 1.5" and 1" would be able to flatten the bottom of a pop can without creasing/fracturing the aluminum?

Very nice JT. It will be interesting to see what you come up with to maximize fuel efficiency yet quicken boil times.

Another nice instructional video. That is something anyone could build for little money down. Thanks JT.
