I've had REALLY interesting results duplicating this stove. 10ML of HEET ALMOST had my SP600 Titanium mug boiling water. I mean I had quite large bubbles, just not rolling boil. Wonder what would happen with an aluminum pot??

Well mine is a slight deviation. Soda can, 12 sections, 1 inch tall. Boils 2 cups of water at 6 minutes using only 12ML of DA. Not too shabby.

Don't you just love tinkering with stove stuff.

Just for the fun of it, try the same size can cut to 1/2" high, no folding, just straight wall. Pour in 1/2 ounce fuel and support your pot 1/2" from top of burner. The "flame front" should take the same shape as the flatcat without the tiny jets.

Pot distance to burner has a big influence on the flame pattern.

I can remove the wire pot support from my Starlyte stove, light it, after a min. or two the holes made for the pot support will become jets of flame. If I were to puncture holes all around the rim there would be tiny jets like the flatcat. The majority of the vapor comes from the center of your stove and justinkering. The tiny jets are a byproduct.
