That was Esso/Exon till Mobil took over and fired him...I think he works for Kelloggs Frosted Flakes now. LOL. :DP:

Texaco put "the tiger in your tank". Right?

Then, he got a job with Kellogg Frosted Flakes. Right?

I think Texaco was
"You can trust your car,
to the man who wears the star,
The bright red Texaco star."

Put a tiger in your tank was Esso

But they are not the same cat of course...that was just a bit of humor on my part

I can see the difference, now.

It's funny, I remember "put a tiger in your tank". I don't remember Esso.

Esso/Exxon

The Esso Tiger was retired in the late 1960s but resurrected in 1972
when Esso changed its name to Exxon. Their ad slogan stated,
We're changing our name, but not our stripes!

I sold one of the 1960s(?) Exxon "tiger tails" on ebay about 5-6 years ago(still sealed in its cellophane bag).It had an elastic band that fit around your gas tank filler tube under the cap..that left the tail hanging out. Most cars didn't have secondary locking doors over the filler caps back then..because gas was too cheap to bother stealing.
What was interesting about the sale was that it went to a guy with a Yellow Corvette to hang it on..that he drove down to Florida..from here in Washington;sent me a picture of his car.
