The HPS Stove

Postby sarbar » Fri Jan 11, 2008 5:18 pm

My friend Mugs is making an Esbit fuel stove, which he calls the HPS (Heiny Pot Stove).

It can also take tea light candles, which while it doesn't produce boiling water in say a MSR Ti cup, it comes pretty close. I tested the candle version with 1 1/2 cups water and was able to repeatedly get hot enough water for tea.

The stove comes in at just under a 1/4 of an ounce and works well with Ti mugs and hard anodized pans. If anyone wants to read up on it, the info on it is here: http://www.freezerbagcooking.com/stoves ... #147245517
