How does Zelph make Perfect punch shapes as exhaust ports

Post by SSGHawk » Wed Apr 23, 2014 9:35 pm

Please let us in to your secrets. Is there a lower cost way like a harbor freight tool, just as an example, that we can purchase to make closer to perfect punched holes and say 3/4" by 1" exhaust port holes?
. My sKills with a shape box knife are criminal.
    Thanks Zelph

You can make do with some leather punches like these:

I like step drill bits, like these: http://www.amazon.com/b?node=256287011
    Available cheap at Harbor Freight.

Not sure how zelph does it.

Harbor used to sell the aviation punch and must have had a lot of problems that they dropped from their line of tools.

I have used Greenlee knockouts with excellent results....top quality products made here in Rockford, IL same with Roper Whitney products made here also. They make an excellent punch set...prices are high for quality ;)
