Wow, that is extreme but does the trick. How well does your simmer ring work and is it easy to adjust while burning? Why do you suppose you were having problems with the original burners?

I like the military Trangia for ruggedness and volume of fuel. Add one wrap around of fiberglass in the center like in the thread I pointed to the other day. Makes for fast lighting and instant heating.

Use a steel can for the simmer ring for longevity.

I made my way into Omaha and temps got down to freezing :o :mrgreen:
