Interesting bottle I found today..Vacation In a Bottle drinks..comes in a mango-lime and pomegranite-berry..or something like that..Bottle is like the fabreze size but a screw off cap...strong aluminum bottle but lightweight..Interesting bottle has plastic threads molded over the aluminum straight neck with the aluminum rolled over the top of the threads..Hmm...I was thinking the bottle/neck might make a good dual burner stove, just the right size for a simmer mode.

Weighs 47 grams..

I did some burn tests and all is well almost. The stove holds one ounce of fuel and boils 2 cups with 17 ml, a little over 1/2 ounce. Does not work well with the Heineken pot, needs to be a small diameter. Works well with 4-5 inch pots.

The heat and alcohol has taken its toll on the top layer of silicone adhesive that holds the aluminum to the fiberglass. :( Back to the drawing board.

I have a stainless steel bottle priced right labelled Zags. I use a Lifeline green neoprene insulation slip-on for it.

This 18/8 stainless steel bottle is 27 oz. 800 ml

9 1/8 inches = 9.125 circumference.
Using this online calculator:
http://www.1728.com/diam.htm
the diameter is 2.9046 inches.

I don't know what that is in fractional measurement.

Here it is: 2 4523/5000 inches
ref: http://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculato ... action.php

Of course, there is a radius at the bottom at the edge.

I know. But maybe the online calculators will help?

I used circumference, because that it is the easiest to measure.
You just need a tea whistle for the top of your stainless canteen ;)

I know.

Our thrift shops don't exist.

There are "garage sales" in Great Falls, MT "high miles" distant.

I did three tests today(random times of day) with 1 ounce of fuel, 4 cups of water in a grease pot, water got to 204, 200, and 206. Not to shabby.

Fuel capacity is 1 ounce.

Stove weighs .9 ounces. 3" in diameter x 3/8" thick Very rugged construction. Stronger than a cookie :geek: . Need a new name for it. :D

By Friday I'll have a video of it on fire under some different pots. Flame pattern is like the "Ring of Fire"

Flame comes out the side of the stove.

The Wafer Stove

The ShimStack Stove (shim stacks are used on helicopter rotor blades to reduce vibration and on many other things as well)
