Stove Lantern Torch Combo 02/21/2006

Postby zelph » Wed Aug 15, 2007 4:11 pm

Here is my version of a unidirectional lantern , stove and torch combination.

It's bright enough for me to see and identify objects 40 to 50 feet away in the dark of night. It is held in the hand or can be placed on a flat surface using the two leg screws on the front end.

Uses a micro torch made by Bernz-omatic.

Tin can with hole (drilled with hole saw in reverse, slow speed, in drillpress) is support for cup that holds 1 cup water.

The head I designed using an older model shower head, drilled and tapped to receive the two screws used as support legs.

The part that burns bright is coleman lantern mantels encased inside the shower head.

I'm working on larger models as material becomes available.
