My shipment of cans came in this past Saturday. :D

I'm working on windscreens to be included in the kits. I came up with a new design for the closure mechanism. Works great.

Windscreens are made and tested fantastic. No warpage or heat discoloration. Very little flame going over the bottom of the flat bottom pot.

1 ounce HEET boiled 3 cups and continued to boil for a looooong time. I then boiled 4 cups in a full size can using 1-1/2 oz HEET and continued to boil for 1 more min. I should be able to get the 4 cups to boil with 1-1/4oz.

3 tests completed.

Air temperature in garage at 50 degrees. Beginning water temperature at 60 degrees.

3 cups water in Conquistador flat bottom can(aluminum bottom)

New large size StarLyte stove with stainless steel wire pot support.

25ml of denatured alcohol as fuel.

Water boiled at approximately 11-1/2 minutes for all 3 tests. Water continued to boil for another 2-1/2 minutes.

I'll do another 3 tests tomorrow.

Finishing touches have been made on the EZLOK windscreen. Soooo user friendly. :D It's made for the Conquistador kit. The windscreen stays locked in the same position time after time to maintain the most efficient spacing between pot and screen. When screen is in close proximity of pot it radiates infra red heat back to pot. This is a one piece windscreen. No paper clips, pins, tent stakes, etc. to lose. User friendly to the max.

The windscreen is 6 inches tall. The stove I will use with it is 2 inches tall.

Watch the video:

Same closure mechanism will be used on a conical windscreen. Not a Caldera Cone ;) Does not support a pot, just blocks the wind. Hey, some folks just like conical.

Looks like it will stay locked good. What material is the windscreen?

It's .005 aluminum. Plenty good for alcohol stoves.

Dan,
Are these available now? If so, what are the various sizes and costs? I don't suppose there is one that the ridged flat bottom Foster pot will fit in?
Thanks
Paul

Paul, I'll put together some kits in the next few days and make them available. I want to try and use these cool cans to their max capacity. The video shows the flat bottom 3 cup capacity with the original top.
