Windscreens are made and tested fantastic. No warpage or heat discoloration. Very little flame going over the bottom of the flat bottom pot.
1 ounce HEET boiled 3 cups and continued to boil for a looooong time. I then boiled 4 cups in a full size can using 1-1/2 oz HEET and continued to boil for 1 more min. I should be able to get the 4 cups to boil with 1-1/4oz.
Finishing touches have been made on the EZLOK windscreen. Soooo user friendly. It's made for the Conquistador kit. The windscreen stays locked in the same position time after time to maintain the most efficient spacing between pot and screen. When screen is in close proximity of pot it radiates infra red heat back to pot. This is a one piece windscreen. No paper clips, pins, tent stakes, etc. to lose. User friendly to the max.
The windscreen is 6 inches tall. The stove I will use with it is 2 inches tall.
Watch the video:
Same closure mechanism will be used on a conical windscreen. Not a Caldera Cone Does not support a pot, just blocks the wind. Hey, some folks just like conical.
Dan,
Are these available now? If so, what are the various sizes and costs? I don't suppose there is one that the ridged flat bottom Foster pot will fit in?
Thanks
Paul
Paul, I'll put together some kits in the next few days and make them available. I want to try and use these cool cans to their max capacity. The video shows the flat bottom 3 cup capacity with the original top.
