"Vigo" Black Beans and Rice

I used a 4 cup capacity aluminum camp pot for this experiment.

1 - 8oz. package of black beans and rice

3 - cups cold water

stove - Budlyte Super stove with one ounce HEET as fuel

Water was brought to a boil and allowed to boil until fuel was expired, stirring while boiling was taking place. Once flame was out I wraped the stove and pot with a bath towel and let it set for 30 min. Ingredients were totally cooked and tasted better than the Darn Good Chili. One 8oz package of product produced 4 cups of tasty food :dinner:

This product is a good one for further experimenting along with the Darn Good Chili

We have used this brand in the past and have had excellent results. If your local stores have a brand called "Tony Cherere" (spelling?) check it out. They have products like this too.

It acts as a suplimental energy booster. Cut one lose and you quickly move 10 steps away from where you were. Happens every time when I go shopping, 10 steps usually puts me into the next isle :taz:

I will have to try this Cuban twist on the black beans and rice. Zatarains black beans and rice is one of my favorite dishes with some cut up Andouille Sausage to add to the bite. :D
