as a matter of fact i think that is what it is. i was also thinking that it would be used for that. trail baking is something i dont do a lot of but when i can handle taking the extra i do like to do it. i havent tried it out yet but i hoped it would work. if not i have a few more ideas for it.

They aren't a bad size and very light.I've seen them and might even have bought one in the past;didn't know what it was for at the time.I wasn't hiking at the time and figured it might work for car camping or closer to base.

Made by Mirro. Used for baking inside a crock pot. They are hard anodized aluminum and have a twist lock top which is really a super nice feature. No extending handle to interfer with compact packing. I have three of them :o When you can get them for practically nothing it's hard not to buy them. Were talkin .50 cents maybe a buck at most. They are quality pots etc. :D

They also came in two sizes. I have a couple of the smaller size.

I like how the lid twist locks. It's where I got the idea to do the twist lock kmart grease pot. Someday I'll try using one for what they were made for, baking bread in a crock pot. I checked the underside of one and it says "CrockPot"
