I am considering SevenD DWR for my next tarp project.

I am considering it for a sleeping quilt, right now.

Here are my fabric links:

I am also considering Shield SilNylon from http://thru-hiker.com/materials/ for the hybrid tarp.

I suspect it may be heavy, like a "footprint" for a tent.

Read: http://www.topvaluefabrics.com/ to find out about more fabrics.

I was watch the public broadcasting station on tv today. They have a program called "Sewing with Nancy" It was about sewing light gauge fabrics, needle selection etc. Maybe the station is available in your area. Watch it every Sat. for some good tips.

We get it here. Too much information for me I think. I like ramblinrev's series on youtube. He recorded them in low quality but he covers everything I need to know to make a tarp or hammock.

If I didn't watch this I would never have understood what RG was trying to tell me :)

He has a lot of trust in a hammock, or I should say his abilities to make it secure. If i was in his shape I'd be camping on a super wide cot. I have read one person injured his back when his hammock released from the tree. That was only one that I read about. How many other accidents like it have happened? don't know!!!

True, but I can't carry a cot very far :). I have my little campervan now too. Bit by bit it's all coming together.

You know how much I like videos.
I found this sail site while looking for material. It has a lot of free videos. Worth a look

http://search.sailrite.com/category/vid ... ngs-sewing

Found them on youtube too

Good to get another perspective on tarps/hammocks and such
