My plans for this weekend changed rapidly. What was supposed to be a 14 mile jaunt, above treeline followed by a moonlight stroll on Longs Peak changed for one reason: Rain and snow above 10k ft during the day and into the night. I am stupid at times (just ask my ex-girlfriends!

I did a local hike yesterday in the drizzle and and it reminded me of New England hiking. Esp with the thick woods, the rocks and the steep trails found in the Boulder Open Space at times.
My mind wandered, and I thought of all my photos of said New England hiking...then I thought of ALL my photos.
Over the years, I've managed to accumulate over 5000 photos on my website as of this writing (Aug 2008). Phew!
I've been fortunate to be able to see and experience so many wonderful sights over the years.
Over the years, I've also received some nice compliments on my photos. With over 5000 photos though, a bit hard to sort through some of the better ones.
So, I last night heated up some homemade soup (good night for soup), cracked open some wine and culled through my photos and made a favorite photos album.
I do mean the term FAVORITES and not BEST. Best is a subjective term. Favorite? Well, hard to argue with me when I say FAVORITE. Some are truly ones I love. Others have a sentimental story behind them. Some just appeal to my attempt in creating an "artistic photo". A few even feature the "rogues gallery" of people I've spent a lot of time with.
In any case, these are the photos I truly think are my favorites for various reasons. Obviously, the newer photos are of better quality, but I think some of the older ones are nice, too.
Maybe some of you will enjoy the various photos....

(I went hiking again today with a friend. The weather in the Boulder Open Space was nice..but, the divide was cloudy and what little poked through was covered in snow! Think we made the right choice to not go hiking last night. The company was not bad either...)
