Though we do not have the mosaic of colors of New England, the aspens are rather nice!

Makes me lightheaded looking up thru the trees, I think I'll fall over :)

Are Aspen used for lodge poles?

I've always wanted to make a teepee, wigwam, caldera cone. Maybe it was the one that's stove related :o

I believe lodge pole pines are what makes...well, lodge poles. :D

True story: When I first moved to Colorado, I kept on calling the aspen "Birch". I'm a New England boy originally, after all.

Now? Whenever I am back in New England, I keep on calling the birch "aspen"!

They look tall and skinny enough to make a teepee/lodge.

Are the aspen "quaking Aspen" or a diff. variety?
