Some glaciers in gorgeous Wind River Range!

This photo is of Kegavah glacier. The topo maps shows the glacier being much bigger 20+ yrs ago. :(

Desolate looking.

Do the winter storms pile up snow from the glacier on up to the mountain peaks?

Are there any large ponds created by the glaciers water?

Is that a view of the north or south side of the mountain?

Yep..Kegevah Lake.

HUGE!

That glacier is facing south.

I love the desolate, yet striking, places.

I should have included Majestic. A photograph can't show us what your eyes have seen.

Standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon Rim looking over in real life is different than what my photos portray.

In the movie Dances With Wolves, Kostner was asked: why do you want to go to the Frontier? his answer: I want to see it before it disappears.

Mags, you remind me of "Dances With Wolves" :) Look at the glacier before it disappears. Watch the wild horses gallop across the canyons. Watch the eagles and condors soar on high. Whoa!!!!! Take it all in my friend, enjoy!!!!!!

The Wind River Range is so high on my list of places to visit that I should really just mark it on my calendar.
