Lone Rock Point (see the rock? its lonely out there in the cold water)
Burlington, VT
December 18, 2007
Lake Champlain misting / fogging and crunchy at the edges...

Thats the ADKS over there, somewhere... in the warmer weather I've taken the ferry and ridden through the Keene Valley up to Lake Placid and back past Whiteface... good fun. Have to spend some time there in the winter. Maybe on foot or skis.

These were taken a 10 minute walk from home... :D (well, more like a 20 minute snowshoe, out the back door, or a 5 minute car ride to the parking lot nearby!)
Took the Maya dog out for a morning snowshoe.
Saw the sun coming up and tinting the mountains and went for a lakeside walk instead of our normal river edge walk.

Really really really nice-n-cold looking photos. :) Made me shiver thinking about the lone rock out there by itself in that cold water Brrrr-er-er!!!! Gee Whizz, you sure do live in a nice neighborhood. :P :D

I bet it was nice to watch the sun come up and burn off some of that fog. It made me feel warmer to the see the rising sun coming up :)

Thanks for sharing your morning with us and the Maya dog :) (Now I'll have to google Maya dog)

I googled this one: Your dog look like this one? I hope so in your cold zone!!!

maya dog... she's of questionable lineage. wife rescued her from being tied to a post at a construction site in hartford, ct.
55 pounds of muscle. part shepherd, not sure what else.

this is from last year, after a nice dump of snow, on a side trail to the long trail near fayston, vt.

last summer, on the summit of hunger mountain (2 peeps are friends from way way back getting their VT fix):

*yeah, she should be on a leash - but we were scrambling in the alpine area and it was hard enough helping my 9 yo nephew up the big rocks much less hold her on a leash
