What I did over Mem Day weekend...

Postby Mags » Thu May 29, 2008 2:08 pm

Backpack of course! :)

I did not get the trip I quite wanted (stupid work commitments..grrr), but I did get a wonderful 2 day trip into the Lost Creek WIlderness.

I took this photo at 11500'+ among the red rocks of the Mt. Bison plateau.

Here, I am looking at the snow covered Pikes Peak in the distance.

Good times!

Awesome. I, too, climbed some hills. I did Mt Colvin and Blake in the Adirondacks. 5000' of ascent over 15 miles.

Thanks for the kind words. I am pretty pleased how that photo came out indeed.

The LCW is a very unique area. The red rock formations, the wide open plateaus and views are awesome. And because the peaks are "only" 12k feet, *NO ONE* goes there.

I plan on going there the next two weekends. It is my favorite place for early and late season hike and backpacks.
