Re: SuperGlue
Yes and No, as a last resort it could work for deep cuts, providing that the wound is then attended to by either a medical professional or some one that knows a bit about first aid. The main reason is that using just super glue could be dangerous as removing what ever material you put over it could possible tear the wound again. I have used super glue on trial with a piece of foam rubber over a fairly large blister i got, it worked rather well keeping it clean and uninfected, however once i got home and removed it i tore open on side of the blister again. So my call would be that its for absolute emergencies only.zelph wrote:Is Super Glue really good for cuts? Anybody with actual experience using it to close a wound?

Dang. If you are going to remove it...soak it in acetone first. That dissolves the glue.

Re: SuperGlue
there is a CA glue used in medicine. i've had it used on me on a cut that would not be closed succesfully with sutures. the doc told me that the only difference between 'super glue' and medical CA glue was that the medical variety is sterile.

Re: SuperGlue
I've used it on torn fingernails. My job is alot easier if you have a little fingernail. At the same time, it can get snagged on something and even after trimming it as far back as possible, there might remain a little piece that will snag so a couple layers of superglue will usually do the trick until the nail grows out far enough to trim it flush.

I use it for small cuts on my fingers. Ones that aren't usually too deep. I don't remove it if I use it I just let it wear away as the wound heals. I don't think I would use it on a blister but if i did I don't think I would glue anything else on to the blister.
