and, Zelph said,I saw some backpacker's were mailing a box of left over backpacking stuff and the box gets mailed on to the next person.
The recipient may take out stuff, but they are also expected to put more stuff in the box and mail it on to another backpacker.
Is this an idea that could catch on?
How about a "stovie" stuff box? It could be backpacking stove and backpacking cooking related stuff.
The concept is, you take out one item and you put one item in, maybe two items out and two items in, like that, and then, mail the to the next person that "signs up" in the thread. It is up to you to "PM" the next person for a current mailing address (people travel).Ok, I'll start it off. I'll load up a box tomorrow and send it off to you. You can creat a new thread and have it as a sign-up thread/sheet.
Add more than you take, if you like.
The idea is to put lightweight "stovie" gear you no longer need, or, you like something else better. Maybe you like something else better in the box. I did. I am trading out one item I never used, for one item I know I would like to use.
Lightweight "camp kitchen" items involved in food preparation are also welcome.
I think practically everyone finds has stuff too good to be thrown out, and, at the same time, no one around to give it to.
So, here's your chance. Plus, it should be fun.
We are "bpLite" and so, let's keep it lightweight for our friends who live overseas.
There is no requirement for "first class" mail, but do send it on reasonably soon.
edit: and invite other "stovie" friends you may know in other forums, if you like!
