Why do we need to know survival skills

Post by zelph » Thu Dec 20, 2007 11:00 am

The news media is giving us some good reasons to be able to survive when the time comes. We need to know how to make fire and carry the mechanical things necessary to get it started.

Just going out to cut a Christmas tree can lead to an emergency life threatning situation.

Two days before that happened there was a story here of my wife's Bingo partner's son who went hunting in main and had to take similar actions. He got caught in a severe white out and survived on just what he had with him for a week before search and rescue found him. By the way always pack a compass and a map it costs $2000 for search and rescue to come find you. You'ld think our tax dollars would be doing something here.

wow. $2000 seems cheap. i seem to remember some kids skiing out of bounds at killington a few years ago and their tab with the state of VT was a lot larger than that!

Hmmmm, how high a price would a family pay to rescue their kids or spouse? How much are we worth in rescue dolllars
