Happy New Year all!
I'm looking for a thread I saw somewhere on here about a stove with a central hole that allows air to come up from below, through the center. I've searched for a while, but can't remember the name of the stove, or the name for that kind of stove in general.
The reason I ask is that I came across an old aluminum canning funnel in a thrift store, the kind with interchangeable funnel hole sizes. The funnel 'tip' sandwiches between the bowl of the funnel and a locking nut. I want to invert the tip so that it sticks up into the bowl, and silicone the heck out of the locking ring. There's enough rim surface that a seal should be possible.
Thanks, Shingaling
p.s. What ever happened to all of Q_x's posts? He had some good topics, and asked a lot of questions. Input like that is important to a DIY place like this!

Any road followed precisely to its end leads precisely nowhere. Climb the mountain just a little bit to test that it's a mountain. From the top of the mountain, you cannot see the mountain.

I miss him, too.
I thought he wasn't posting, because he solved the soot problem that had been the initial problem he was concerned about.
And, Happy New Year!
