Price of Heet
A while back we had a thread about the price of Heet yellow bottle. This is just an update.
This AM (12 Jan 11) I purchased a 4-pack of Heet yellow bottle for $4.97 in Walmart in Bartlesville, Ok.
Bartlesville is located in the NE part of the state.

Re: Price of Heet
That's a good price.
I've not noticed what it is here in northern Illinois. I'll check later in the day at Kmart.
Thanks for the update.

I pick up the hardware store sales advertisements in the hardware store, and, I look for sales at the gas stations and auto parts stores.
Best price: 50-cents.

I had a thought the other day about using HEET in my gas tank when I use gas that has 10% ethenol. I deduced that HEET is not necessary. Do you all concur?

Re: Price of Heet
I would think Heet would be redundant, if you already have 10% ethanol in the gas tank.

I wonder how much of that 10% ethanol is already saturated with water.

Re: Price of Heet
I think it's blended at the pump. The reason I say that is I saw a large above ground tank located at the edge of a stations property that had "ethanol" written on it in very large letters. Other large tanks were there also but didn't notice what was written on those. Maybe it was E85sudden wrote:I wonder how much of that 10% ethanol is already saturated with water.

Re: Price of Heet
Yeah, living in Iowa, Heet is pretty much a scam since we have ethanol in all of our regular/mid-grade gas. This is in addition to all of the other additives gas companies add during the winter months.
I get the 4 packs for the same price here. Thus far Wal-Mart has consistently been the lowest price at $4.97 for a 4 pack. Heck, if I figure it per oz, that's a few cents cheaper than Denatured Alcohol by the gallon. (Around $14)
