Geocaching
Geocaching
I have started geocaching. It's a great way to get out and see things. My daughters and I have a lot of fun finding "Treasure". I fits in nicely with my outdoor adventures too. I can hunt for geocaches just about everywhere I'm already going. I've found caches on kayak trips, fly fishing trips, camping trips, and trips to the local grocery. If you have a GPS or a smart phone, then you should give it a try.
Re: Geocaching
You can get small geo tags for the kids. There are certain types of geocache that are there for transporting small tagged items all over the world.
I signed up with this site a while ago (didn't stick with it though). They explain all about it and have some good forums on the topic.

Travel bug is the name I was looking for.

Another fun activity with the kids along the same line is letterboxing. You design and carve your own stamp on a piece of rubber eraser or like item. Carving your own is more personable then just buying a dollar stamp. You hide it in the park or other public place in a water tight container(tupperware) along with a small notepad. Then you give directions on the letterboxing web site for others to find your cache and they will make a journal entry into your notepad and also make their personal stamp impression with the entry. They will then use the stamp you have hidden to stamp their personal stamp journal and then return it to the container and hiding place for others to find.

It's a great way to extend your weekend camping trips. Makes them totally interesting. My daughters look forward to it when they come to our halloween campout.
I've never created a cache, only searched for them. Only one of them I could not find.
The most interesting was a night time search. They had several solar led lights that led the way down a nice wide path to the base of a very large tree.

I have a 1997 black Maxima with a damaged side mirror. I was looking at eBay and found a set of mirrors with LED Fluorescent Replacement that flash when you signal for a turn (like that of the Benz). My concern is installing them. Since the stock mirrors don't have flashing mini led light bars, high watt led lightshow am I supposed to wire the mirrors to be able to get a message from the car when it is signaling?
Re: Geocaching
Use your gps unit connected in series to your mirrors. When you see the cache flashing you know you have found it
